ireland, part one

once upon a summer with two craic head siblings were blessed to accomplish a lifelong dream of experiencing Ireland together.
(I don’t want to overwhelm either of us with how beautiful it was / how many pictures I take, so I’ll post about it in parts.)

we started out by getting bounced around every possible airport (Dulles,...

Congrats!! =)

wedding previews!

so it was a busy week.
6 people I really like, 3 sets of vows, 3 receptions, 2 engagement shoots, 2 states, 1 cave, 1 pair of stilts, 10,000+ images – in 5 days.
(and of course, soooo many good times.)
since I was already down south over the weekend I stuck around for a perfectly bright and...

Oh goodness. All three are so gorgeous!

That cave is amazing, do people offer to jump in the water? Do you ask? Has anyone ever turned down an idea of yours? How does that even work…… I can hardly believe some of the photos you are able to get.

Sarah Danaher - September 20, 2010 - 10:06 pm

Becka, I nearly cried looking at these. Soooooooooo very beautiful.

katelyn james - September 20, 2010 - 10:48 pm

AHHH!!!!!!! I LITERALLY was YELLING at my internet because it was taking forever to load Torrie’s images and I was DYING TO SEE THEM!!!!!!!!!! Ah!! How beautiful! I’m so so thrilled you were there to capture their day! Torrie oh. my. gosh…. you were stunning!!!!!!!

Ally - September 21, 2010 - 8:44 am

naturally, these are all gorgeous.
but the first image from Mike & Danielle’s preview is so elegant that it took my breath away, and I just want to stare at it all day.

props, Becka.

huntsville, alabama

between the caves and rivers and waterfalls and heaps of near-death experiences, this week in Alabama was decidedly the most memorable wedding experience of my life.

…mostly due to the fact that Caleb + Brigette Christopher (!!!) are LEGITIMATELY AWESOME.
got home last night and after a slow morning and black coffee I feel alive...

Awesome! I imagine by “beach” you mean my hometown (Va Beach, what what!) could be wrong though… if it is, say hello for me :)

Maria Davey - September 17, 2010 - 9:24 am

Me and everyone in the room I’m in are in love with this photo. YOU are amazing!

Sarah Danaher - September 17, 2010 - 12:59 pm

Rebekah, This is such a beautiful picture! I can’t wait to see the rest of them! It was such a joy to meet you! Enjoy the beach!

happy weekending! | ankle boots?

So I have a dilemma.
I’m quite a fan of the whimsical vintage dress + ankle boots look, now that we’re finally heading into glorious fall (!!!) I feel like this is the perfect transitionary outfit….but I just don’t know how easily it can be pulled off.

(the sartorialist <3)
Super adorable, right?
I always feel...

hello. i think you know the answer to that question, but here’s some confirmation… you should just wear them! especially if it would make you happy. however, if you would be more concerned with the thoughts of others as you wear them, they may be more trouble than they’re worth, right?

anywho, i think they’re cute, and you should wear what you want. :)

Sarah Danaher - September 11, 2010 - 11:55 pm

I think you can pull of just about anything, my dear. Personal opinion, though: if worn with a dress in the first picture, then no. you cannot pull it of. but if paired with a different, more defining dress / blouse+skirt combo (with the perfect belt, of course), then I think you could more than do it justice.

Kelly - September 12, 2010 - 10:11 am

Linebacker?! Woman please. You are tall and skinny and graceful and gorgeous. I’m in line with Sarah above. Not the hugest fan of them with dresses, but skinny jeans and a blouse? Heck yes. You would rock it

Genevieve Arens - September 12, 2010 - 12:30 pm

At 19, I’m 6′ tall myself and understand where you’re coming from. I’m an equestrian, and I think it’s so cool that those boots are in fashion right now. (We pay high dollar for that sort of boot to compete in) Now I can finally justify wearing them to church! lol!
Anywho, as Sarah said, I think a defining flowey dress with a nice leather belt and cardigan would look great! As long as the dress compliments your figure, the vintage look will really make you stand out! :)

Tori - September 13, 2010 - 7:35 am

the summary of all these posts is……

get them.

you’re fabulous and will find wonderful ways to make them a fantastic piece of your wardrobe that we’ll all gush over when we see you wearing them the next time we hang out with you. :)

Dan - September 24, 2010 - 10:04 pm

I don’t particularly care about the question of the boots. But I so resonated with something you said that I had to comment. Yes, let heaven be eternally autumn!
